Fenglin Elementary School was once a military fortress, and photography was strictly prohibited everywhere.
The school anthem mentions beautiful coconut groves, but they have now completely disappeared.
The walls outside the school were covered with slogans opposing communism and Russia.
Now they have been transformed into a shared memory wall, documenting much of the history.
